Last Thursday we took a look at Larry Ellison in our series 10 of the Greatest Salespeople of All Time. Our next salesperson is a woman of many talents. Crowned Miss Vermont in 1985 and Talent award winner in the 1986 “Miss America Scholarship Pageant”, she also became the top sales representative for Steinway and Sons for eight consecutive years. Let’s look a little closer.
Erica Feidner- Founder of Piano Matchmaker, LLC
Erica Feidner began playing piano at the age of 3 and was teaching others as a private piano teacher by the age of 9. She went on to study piano at The Juilliard School in their pre-college division and then received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Piano Performance, SUNY. She started her own private teaching practice in New York City and worked on her career as a concert pianist. Unfortunately, her career as a professional pianist and teacher was cut short after a skiing accident that resulted in a torn thumb ligament.
Erica went back to school to receive her MBA in Marketing. During school she began selling pianos for a piano dealership in New York City. After her graduation she took a position at Steinway and Sons and soon became their top sales representative, a position which she held for eight consecutive years. After her great achievements at Steinway and Sons, Erica went on to found her own company, Piano Matchmaker, LLC with a mission to connect her clients with high-end pianos of all makes and models. Throughout her career Erica has sold about $46 million dollars worth of pianos by selling over 1000 pianos, a feat which she performed one client at a time.
